Good teachers are essential to solving the global learning crisis and closing the gap between poor and good quality inclusive education.
Multikids Africa is working in partnership with the Special Education Division, Ghana Education Service, Ghanaian based Universities and international education partners, to implement Ghana’s Inclusive Education Policy, policy Objective 3:
To ensure that all children have teachers that are well-trained, motivated, are able to include children with SEND and are supported by well-managed systems
An estimated 90% of children with disabilities in the developing world do not go to school.
Multikids Africa trains care-givers and community based rehabilitation (CBR) workers to deliver basic therapeutic skills to support children with disabilities and their families who are often isolated at home and in the community. Working closely with University of Education, Winneba, we offer internships to CBR undergraduates.
In a country of over 27.9 million people *(LSHTM, 2016), there are currently an estimated 150 practising physiotherapists,15 speech & language therapists, 27 qualified occupational therapists and 21 practising occupational therapists.
Multikids Africa in partnership with University of Health & Allied Sciences and University of Ghana, offers paediatric clinical placements to ensure that Ghana’s newly trained therapists have access to supervised clinical practise at Multikids Inclusive Academy. Global specialist organisations and professionals provide training and supervision for all therapy disciplines which are key to enabling inclusive classrooms.
